For DMIT VPS users, IP address availability and replacement policies are among the most important concerns. This article provides a detailed explanation of DMIT’s official IP replacement policy, including free replacement conditions, paid replacement fees, and related frequently asked questions, helping users clearly understand the rules.
Can DMIT VPS IP Addresses Be Changed?
Yes. DMIT does provide IP replacement services, but the process is subject to certain restrictions. Users must submit a support ticket to contact the official support team and request an IP change.
Because IP addresses are limited resources, replacements are only available under specific conditions and cannot be changed freely at any time.

Detailed IP Replacement Policy
DMIT’s IP replacement rules vary depending on the VPS product series.
1. Applicable to Premium/Pro and Eyeball Series Plans
A free IP replacement is available only when all of the following conditions are met:
- Usage Duration Requirement: The VPS instance must have been active for at least 7 full days (eligible starting from day 8).
- Replacement Interval Requirement: At least 15 days must have passed since the last IP replacement request (including paid replacements). If the instance has multiple IPs, the most recent replacement date applies.
- IP Blocking Status: The current IP must have both ICMP access (such as Ping) and all TCP ports completely blocked and inaccessible.
- Remaining Service Time: The VPS instance must still have at least 7 days of active service remaining.
Special Cases:
- If the IP assigned during the initial activation was already blocked, users may immediately submit a support ticket for a free replacement.
- If the free replacement conditions are not met, users may still request an IP replacement at any time by paying a $5 fee. However, each paid replacement request must be at least 7 days apart.
2. Applicable to T1 Series Plans
- No IP Guarantee+ Service: There is no guarantee that newly assigned IPs will be reachable in all regions worldwide, especially in countries or regions with strict network restrictions.
- With IP Guarantee+ Service: DMIT guarantees initial connectivity of newly assigned IPs in certain restricted regions (support ticket required). For non-monthly billing cycles such as annual plans, this service is already included.
- Replacement Fee: Any IP replacement request under the T1 series will incur a $5 fee, with a minimum interval of 7 days between requests.
Important Notes (General Principles)
- Initial Connectivity Guarantee: For Premium and Eyeball network configurations, DMIT guarantees initial global IP connectivity (ticket submission required).
- The following situations will result in paid replacement charges:
- If ICMP (Ping) is still reachable, or only certain ports are inaccessible in specific regions.
- If the VPS has been active for less than 7 days.
- If the VPS has fewer than 7 days of remaining service time.

Other IP-Related Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Can additional IP addresses be added?
A: Most plans do not support adding extra IP addresses. Currently, only the LAX.Pro series supports additional IP requests via support ticket.
Q2: Can IP addresses be transferred to another VPS?
A: No. IP addresses are bound to the purchased VPS instance and cannot be transferred to another server.
Q3: Are IP addresses guaranteed to access all websites or streaming services?
A: No. DMIT does not guarantee access to specific streaming services, games, or websites such as Netflix or ChatGPT.
Q4: Is IPv6 supported?
A: Yes. All instances are assigned a /64 IPv6 prefix by default, which can be viewed in the control panel. A very small number of legacy instances may not have IPv6 assigned and can request it via support ticket.
Special Note About LAX Pro IPv6:
Due to technical reasons, the CN2 routing configuration for IPv6 traffic on the LAX Pro series actually uses AS4134 for both international and domestic China routes. Its quality is therefore comparable to standard AS4134 IPv6 connectivity rather than true CN2 GIA IPv6 performance.
Summary
DMIT provides a structured IP replacement mechanism, and whether users qualify for a free replacement depends on several factors including VPS series, usage duration, and IP blocking status.
Before submitting a replacement request, users should carefully verify whether their VPS instance meets the free replacement conditions in order to avoid unnecessary charges.
For any uncertain situations, the safest approach is to contact the official support team in advance through a support ticket for confirmation.
