UCloud, a publicly listed Chinese cloud service provider, recently optimized its Hong Kong cloud server network routes. Here’s a detailed review. The upgraded servers reportedly offer CN2-optimized routes, allowing direct connections from all three major networks in mainland China. They support both Linux and Windows operating systems, making them ideal for website hosting, cross-border e-commerce, and other business uses. Users can choose either UHost cloud servers (international routes or premium BGP lines) or ULightHost lightweight application servers.
In this review, we tested the UHost cloud server using the international route (sufficient for most purposes). The premium BGP line offers higher quality and stability but comes at a higher price. As usual, we tested the lowest-spec configuration to see how it performs.

UHost Cloud Server Test Configuration
We purchased a machine with 1M bandwidth. Console configuration details are as follows:
Script-based configuration check – to verify the server specs.
IP Quality – ping tests conducted locally after obtaining the server IP.
Network Latency – measured for both domestic and international routes.
Packet Loss Rate – tested to evaluate network stability.
Disk Performance – read/write speeds measured for SSD performance.
Speedtest – benchmarked network throughput.
Asia Node Test – latency and speed from Asian locations.
Europe & U.S. 10G Port Test – network performance for transcontinental connections.
Route Analysis – both outbound and return routes traced.
Streaming Unlock Test – tested compatibility with geo-restricted streaming platforms.
Other Performance Metrics – additional parameters summarized for reference.
The review focused purely on testing; users can judge the quality and performance based on the results.
- Conclusion: UCloud Hong Kong servers with CN2 optimization provide low-latency, stable connections to mainland China. The international line is cost-effective, while the premium BGP line offers better network quality for users who need higher performance. Both Linux and Windows OS support makes these servers versatile for multiple applications.
