RackNerd – Introducing Infrastructure Stability
Incident Overview:
According to RackNerd’s official statement, the issue was localized to a specific area within the Los Angeles DC-02 data center and was caused by a building-level chiller (cooling system) failure. Due to the A/C system outage, core network equipment was affected, resulting in partial VPS and bare-metal server downtime or connectivity issues.
At present, building engineers, the data center operations team, and external vendors are on-site working on recovery. Mobile cooling units have also been deployed to speed up service restoration.
Editor’s Note:
RackNerd has responded quickly to this incident, providing timely updates and transparent communication, which reflects strong operational responsibility. The affected data center is located in the Aon Center building in Los Angeles, a key network hub on the U.S. West Coast. Although this issue was not caused by RackNerd’s own infrastructure, it still highlights an important factor when choosing IDC providers: the redundancy and reliability of physical facility infrastructure remain critical considerations.
