Recently, the well-known VPS provider BandwagonHost has quietly removed the Los Angeles DC3 CN2 datacenter from all of its plans. This datacenter originally provided CN2 GT connectivity and was hosted at the QuadraNet data center. However, due to QuadraNet’s declining performance in recent years, combined with reputation issues surrounding its subsidiary Pacificrack and its eventual shutdown, BandwagonHost’s decision to discontinue DC3 was expected.
Users who previously purchased plans can no longer switch to or select this datacenter. It is recommended to migrate to other nodes as soon as possible to ensure better network quality.

Status of DC3 CN2 Datacenter and Routing Changes
Currently, the DC3 datacenter has been removed from almost all BandwagonHost plans, including KVM basic plans, CN2 GIA-E business plans, and premium routes such as Japan/Hong Kong optimized packages.
Although some legacy CN2 plans may still show “US: Los Angeles, California (DC3 CN2) [USCA_3]”, these plans are no longer sold and are unavailable for new users.
From real-world testing, DC3 no longer uses CN2 GT return routing. Instead, it has switched to standard three-network direct routes via China Telecom 163, China Unicom AS4837, and China Mobile CMI. The previous optimized performance is no longer present, resulting in reduced speed and stability.

Recommended Replacement: DC2, DC8, DC6 and Other High-Performance Nodes
If you are using or planning to purchase a KVM plan, it is recommended to choose more stable datacenters such as DC2, DC8, or DC4.
For users who prefer optimized e-commerce routing, you can directly choose DC6 or DC9 CN2 GIA-E plans, which offer significantly better return routing quality and bandwidth stability.

FAQ
Q1: Why did BandwagonHost shut down DC3?
A: Mainly due to instability at QuadraNet and the shutdown of its subsidiary Pacificrack, which affected service quality.
Q2: Can existing DC3 users still use it?
A: Yes, existing users can continue using it until expiration, but switching or redeployment is no longer available.
Q3: Which BandwagonHost nodes are recommended now?
A: DC6, DC9 (CN2 GIA-E) or DC2, DC8 for stable KVM performance.
Q4: Is CN2 GIA-E worth buying?
A: Yes, it is currently one of the best value premium routing options, offering multi-datacenter switching and significantly better performance than CN2 GT.
